Anzac day...

It's not my family.. but it could have been.

The flame burns, representing our eternal gratefulness for their sacrifice.

The list is never ending.. the poppies, a colourful reminder for us all.

The monument in Canberra is absolutely beautiful, perfectly maintained, and chock full of interesting information and artifacts from so many wars..

Inside, there are helpful veterans giving heartfelt guided tours.. it has a very different impact hearing about war from someone who really knows.

  1. I love the War Memorial, that might sound strange but i'm married into military & raised military, my 4 children go to the closest schools to the War Memorial & i just feel it's part of us. When my husband is at war, the children can't bring themselves to go with me, so i go alone, i go often. Very sad to see many names in the latest wars of people we know, every ANZAC & Rememberance Day is extremely emotional. I'm so glad you visited & enjoyed it, especially at this time of year. Just thrilled this year i'll have my husband to share ANZAC day with, rather than him away. Enjoy your long weekend with true meaning. Love Posie
